What happens if somebody who works for you has an accident or suffers an illness and YOU are held to be responsible?

You can insure your liability as an employer (or lead contractor). REMEMBER It is a LEGAL requirement to have Employers Liability Insurance if people under your control or supervision fall within the Employers Liability Legislation.
